 Did you know - 

Originally named “Midway”, Midland, Texas has been the historical way-station for travel and trade between Dallas and El Paso. This feature became definitive when the Texas-Pacific Railroad was built across Texas. The original drivers of the local economy were cattle and agriculture (primarily cotton farming). NOVEMBER 30 UPDATE: Details about the 2018 research awards have been posted.  Please review this page to get details on how to submit a proposal, as well as the criteria used to just them!

NOVEMBER 12  UPDATE: Registration details are ready to be provided.  Registration will open on January 1, 2018.  You must be a member to register, and you must register if you are presenting (a poster or a talk).  All membership expires on December 31, 2017 (there is no pro-rating of membership).  If you are joining the Academy solely to attend the meeting, you should join on January 1, 2018.  Guests cost $50 per guest.

Hotel information has also been posted and can be accessed here.  Three hotels have agreed to reserve rooms for TAS at a rate of $99 per night.
